available by your Committee and suggesting that this and

the other conditions which we had imposed were in violation

of the original agreement, on the basis of which he had

originally accepted your contribution of £10,000 a year.

The President stated that he had agreed to our conditions

at the meeting on the 10th with reluctance and had sime

come to the conclusion that their fulfilment would be

detrimental to the Hospital, believing our real aim to

be the "complete separation" of the Extension.

Revoking his previous assent, therefore, he gave

notice that he would propose a resolution at the next

meeting of the Committee stating that in view of the atti-

tude of the Hongkong War Charities Committee, as interpreted

by ita representatives, the Committee of the Royal Flying

Corps Hospital regretted that they were unable to accept

the contribution of £10,000 a year to be devoted to

an Extension of the Hospital and proposing to accept the

offer of 2200 a month without conditions. The resolution

further provided that the President should be authorised

to write a letter to the Governor of the Colony giving

the reasons for this decision.
